Why aren’t Manuscript Analysis, Marketability Analysis, and Virtual Beta Reader included?

Manuscript Analysis gives you actionable feedback and specific advice prioritized by importance on your entire manuscript. Marketability Analysis gives you a comprehensive publishing toolkit to position your book, including market insights and ready-to-use resources. Virtual Beta Reader gives you first-person feedback on the key elements of your story, such as plot, characters, and dialogue.

As all three features offer in-depth feedback on your entire manuscript of up to 300,000 words, they require advanced processing to run. That’s why we offer these as specialized add-ons instead. This helps to keep subscription costs down while still giving you the choice to access these tools.

How to buy more Story Credits

You can purchase Story Credits directly on our website. You can use these credits to run Manuscript Analysis, Marketability Analysis, or Virtual Beta Reader.

Alternatively, log in to your account on the ProWritingAid website. If you are already logged in, hover over your profile name and click “My Account.” You can also go to your Dashboard and click on your profile icon in the top right-hand side of your window, then click “My Account.”

On the right-hand side of your window, click on the “Purchase more credits” button under “Manuscript Analysis Credits.”

If you have a Premium plan, you will get up to 40% off Story Credits. If you have a Premium Pro plan, you will get up to 65% off Story Credits.

Our Manuscript Analysis gives you feedback and advice on your whole text in its entirety. This is unique compared to the features competitors may offer that only condense summaries of chapters into a general overview.

Manuscript Analysis automatically recognizes the genre of your story, then provides relevant feedback on many areas of your story. This includes plot, characterization, pacing, narrative, world-building, climaxes, timelines, and more.

Virtual Beta Reader gives you first-person feedback on how a reader will experience your story. This means you’ll have relatable insights into the flow, key moments, and drop-off points within your writing.

Marketability Analysis generates market insights and strategies. It also gives you ready-made resources such as a story synopsis, an agent query letter, and a book cover designer brief.

The unique level of in-depth feedback and resources these critiques provide mean they cost significantly more to run. By not including them in our plans as standard, we can keep your subscription cost lower.

How can I upgrade and get the Story Credits discount?

Premium plan users get up to 40% off Story Credits. Premium Pro plan users get up to 65% off Story Credits.

To upgrade to Premium or Premium Pro and get the Manuscript Analysis Credits discount at the same time, visit your account page.

On the right-hand side of your window, click on the “Purchase more credits” button under “Manuscript Analysis Credits.”

You will go to the Story Credits page on our website. In the tab near the top of the page, select “Premium” or “Premium Pro.” We have highlighted this in red in the image below.

You will see the price change on the credits to show the discount applied when you select either option.

Then select how many Story Credits you would like to purchase, from “1 Credit,” “3 Credits,” or “10 Credits.” We have highlighted this in red in the image below.
