How do I use Marketability Analysis?
Marketability Analysis is an on-demand report that gives you instant insights, plans, and resources to help you market and publish your book.
How to run Marketability Analysis
If you’re using the Web Editor, under “Reports,” click on the “Critique” icon as highlighted in red in the image below.
A drop-down menu titled “Get Feedback” will appear. Select “Marketability Analysis” as highlighted in red in the image below.
If you’re using a ProWritingAid integration, click the floating ProWritingAid icon. Click on “Critique,” then click on “Marketability Analysis.”
Marketability Analysis will run. Depending on the length of your manuscript, you may need to wait a while for it to generate in a new window. Here’s an example of the start of Marketability Analysis in the image below.
How to use the insights and resources in Marketability Analysis
Select from each of the categories in the side menu to jump to its section in the analysis. Each section is focused on a specific aspect of marketing or publishing your story. Sections such as “Book cover,” “Traditional publishing,” and “Self-publishing” give you ready-made resources. For instance, you can download or copy an art direction brief for a book cover, a query letter template, and a seven-day media engagement plan.

To shorten the amount of scrolling you need to do, you can also click on the title of a topic within each category to expand or contract its feedback.
How to view your Marketability Analysis later
Instead of printing or downloading your Marketability Analysis, you can still look at it later in your “Feedback History.”
To do this in the Web Editor, click on “Critique,” then click on “Feedback History.”
If you’re using a ProWritingAid integration, hover over the floating ProWritingAid icon. Click on “Critique,” then click on “Feedback History.”
You can then select from a menu with all previous instances when you ran Marketability Analysis.
How to print or download Marketability Analysis
Marketing Analysis has lots of detailed insights, templates, and plans. If you’d like to continue with your writing and save your analysis to look at later, you can print or download it instead.
To do this, click on the “Print” icon button at the top of the analysis.
From here, you can either print the document or select “Save as PDF” in the drop-down menu under “Printer.” Then click the “Save” button to download the .pdf file to your computer.
