What is Manuscript Analysis?
Manuscript Analysis gives you actionable feedback on your entire manuscript in just a few minutes. It generates detailed analysis of characters, plot, and setting, prioritized by importance. You will receive specific advice about ways to strengthen your entire story, with exact text locations you can jump to for editing your writing.
Manuscript Analysis contains five sections:
- About My Story: Gives you overarching information about your story’s genre, narrative elements, and competitors.
- Themes & Message: Highlights the key narrative threads throughout your story, and flags themes that are working well and those you could improve.
- Plot & Structure: Highlights plot points that are working well as well as those that might need improvement.
- Characters: Examines important characterization moments and highlights areas where a particular character is working well or could use some closer examination.
- Setting: Analyzes how your use of setting contributes to the overall narrative structure of your manuscript. This section flags if you need to improve any aspect of your setting and what you could do to make it stronger.
Manuscript Analysis also provides chapter-specific insights and identifies plot holes, inconsistencies, and areas where world-building could be improved. With the text location feature, it will also pinpoint exactly where in your manuscript there are potential issues.
