Do I need to cancel my previous subscription before upgrading?
No, you do not need to cancel your previous subscription before you upgrade your plan. In fact, it’s easier to upgrade your plan in your account.
To do this, visit your account page and scroll down to the “Plans” section. Any plans that you can upgrade to will be listed here. Click on the black “Upgrade” button for the plan you want to upgrade to. We have highlighted the “Upgrade” buttons in red in the image below.
Prorated discounts when upgrading with a Premium or Premium Pro plan
Another reason why it is better to upgrade your existing account instead of canceling is because you may be entitled to a prorated discount. This discount is specific to your account, so you must be logged in to see it. The prorated discount to upgrade is based on your current plan and the amount of time you have left on your current subscription.
If you purchase a new subscription, this will replace your previous subscription, but it won’t extend it. Your subscription renewal date will remain the same.
