How do I use Manuscript Analysis Credits?

Credits are required to use our story editing features: Manuscript Analysis or Virtual Beta Reader.

One credit gives you one use of either Manuscript Analysis or Virtual Beta Reader on your entire story.

Preparing your document

To ensure that you make the most of Manuscript Analysis or Virtual Beta Reader, there are some steps you can follow to prepare your manuscript.

This article details how to prepare your manuscript to get the best results.

Using Manuscript Analysis Credits

You can run Manuscript Analysis and Virtual Beta Reader from our Web Editor and other compatible writing apps through Desktop Everywhere and our browser extensions.

If you use the Web Editor or Scrivener, make sure that you’re on a full document view before running Manuscript Analysis or Virtual Beta Reader. This step is necessary if your manuscript is divided into chapters or sections to ensure Virtual Beta Reader runs on your entire manuscript.

  • On the Web Editor, click on Full Document if your document is divided into chapters.
  • If you use Scrivener, read this article.

If you want to run Manuscript Analysis, you can find the instructions in this article. For Virtual Beta Reader, follow the instructions in this article.

Both Manuscript Analysis and Virtual Beta Reader work with documents of up to 300,000 words. We recommend writing at least 4,000 words to ensure you get a meaningful amount of feedback on your writing.

Purchasing more Credits

You can buy individual Manuscript Analysis Credits or bundles of 3 or 10 credits here.

You don’t need a Premium or Premium Pro license to purchase credits. However, if you have an active Premium or Premium Pro license, you will receive a discount depending on your subscription. For example, Premium Pro users pay less for credits and bundles than Premium and Free users, and Premium users will pay less than Free users.

Manuscript Analysis Credits are nonrefundable, but they can be used with Virtual Beta Reader and Manuscript Analysis, and they don’t expire.
