What is the ProWritingMethod?

The ProWritingMethod is a framework developed by our founder, Chris Banks, after two years of research into the challenges and successes of many different writers. It is not a specific feature, report, or tool. Instead, it is an approach that guides the support we give to ProWritingAid members.

The ProWritingMethod is based on 3 pillars: Craft, Habit, and Mindset.

Craft

This part of the framework is focused on practicing and developing writing skills. Our editing reports help you with this by giving you specific advice on editing areas, ranging from readability and repetition to sticky sentences and structure. You can also get detailed feedback and analysis on your writing in our Story Critique Reports.

Habit

This is about building a writing routine over time. Progressing an idea into a full manuscript doesn’t happen overnight. The ProWritingMethod provides you with the tools to keep coming back to your writing. That includes our Session Timer for recording your writing sessions and live guided writing sprints in our community.

Mindset

This pillar is about understanding how you feel at each stage of your writing journey. In Reflections, we have created a tool that helps you track your mood. And with Resets, you can take a moment to pause and regain your focus. It is about strengthening your mindset and gaining perseverance.

The ProWritingMethod helps you improve as a writer instead of just improving your writing.

ProWritingAid is more than just an editing assistant: we’re here to help you bring your story to life. Unlock your story’s full potential with our in-depth writing reports, actionable feedback, and more.
