This depends on the type of discount that is being applied.
Discounts are not applied automatically for:
- Unique or exclusive promo codes and discounts.
Discounts are applied automatically for:
- Seasonal sale discounts for new subscriptions and Story Credits.
- Prorated discounts for subscription upgrades.
How to apply discounts that are not automatic
To apply a discount that is not automatic, you will need to enter the discount, coupon, or promo code on our pricing page.

How automatic discounts are applied to new subscriptions
Automatic discounts applied during our seasonal sales are available for new subscriptions only. You will clearly see the discounts to be automatically applied to your new subscription when you visit our pricing page.
Our sale discounts apply to new subscriptions only.
When you purchase a discounted annual subscription, your discount applies to the first year. After that, your subscription will automatically renew at the standard price of the subscription.
How automatic discounts are applied to subscription upgrades
Prorated discounts are also applied automatically when you upgrade your subscription. To see your specific prorated discount that will be applied automatically when you upgrade, please log in and visit the My Account page.
