What are the different Writing Styles available?
ProWritingAid offers a range of Writing Style settings to choose from to help you with editing your document. Which one you choose depends entirely on the text you are editing.
Writing Styles help provide real-time suggestions that are more appropriate for the document you are working on.
To get editing, choose the Writing Style and subsequent Document Type that are most relevant for your text.
What are the different Writing Styles available?
You can choose from the following Writing Styles:
- General
- Academic
- Business
- Technical
- Creative
- Casual
- Web
- Script
All Writing Styles have a “General” Document Type. Writing Styles also have additional specific Document Types to choose from to get suggestions that are more relevant to the document you’re writing.
How do Writing Styles differ from each other?
Below, you will find more information about each Writing Style to help you decide which one would be best for your document.
For each Writing Style, our base suggestions and rules are applied as well as the following rules:

You will need to pick both a Writing Style and Document Type for the settings to be implemented.
If a specific Writing Style and Document Type is not set, it will default to “General.”
