What do I need to use ProWritingAid?
You’ll need an internet connection to use ProWritingAid. This applies to our Web Editor and all our integrations.
Our Web Editor is compatible with all modern web browsers, including Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Firefox, Opera, and more.
To use our browser extensions (Chrome, Firefox, and Edge), we recommend updating your browser to the latest version.

Windows
ProWritingAid Desktop Everywhere requires Windows 10 (version 1903), or newer, to run.
Our Word Add-in is compatible with Word 2016, Word 2019, Word 2021, and Word (Microsoft 365).
Mac
ProWritingAid Desktop Everywhere requires macOS Catalina (10.15.x), or newer, to run.
From June 1, 2025, Desktop Everywhere will stop working on macOS Mojave (10.14.x).
If your mac is compatible, please upgrade to Catalina or newer to continue using Desktop Everywhere.
