What type of feedback does Character Analysis provide?
When you run Character Analysis, you will get an in-depth report that evaluates the characters in your story.
Here’s what you can expect in each section of Character Analysis:
- Report Overview: Summarizes the characters across the story and explains whether they fit within the genre conventions of the story. It also identifies the strongest elements of characterization.
- Cast: Lists the cast of characters in a table that also establishes their role, archetype, and function. Their presence in the story is also rated as a percentage.
- Relationships Map: Lists the characters interactions in a table. It also states the type of relationship, along with its start, turning point, and ending.
- Character Card: Each character has a character card that generates an image of the character based on their physical descriptions in the story. The card also quotes the physical descriptions, establishes mannerisms and voice signature, and quotes the character’s signature phrase.
- Core Psychology: Details the inner world and mindset of the character. It also sets out their wants versus needs and their central conflict within the story.
- Character Arc: Analyzes how the character changes during the story. This is also displayed on a graph that shows the character arc across chapters.
- Agency Map: Looks at whether the agency of the character is driving, active, reactive, or passive at different chapter points in the story.
- Summary: Includes an overall assessment of the characters, and suggestions for possible revisions and improvements.
- Revision Focus: Lists areas of concern in characters and character interactions for you to consider in future revisions.
