How to take part in the Novel Beginnings Bootcamp

All ProWritingAid members, no matter whether you have a Free, Premium, or Premium Pro plan, are welcome to take part in our Novel Beginnings (NovBegin) Bootcamp. To participate, you do not need to have registered for Novel Beginnings, but you will need to sign up to the ProWritingAid Community first.

After you have signed up, visit the Community homepage. In the side menu, under “NOVEL BEGINNINGS,” click on “NovBegin Bootcamp.” We have highlighted this in red in the image below.

The NovBegin Bootcamp page will open. Click on the “Enroll” button at the top right-hand side of the screen. You will then see a progress bar showing how many lessons you have completed.

The Bootcamp features topics such as what Novel Beginnings is, ideation techniques, tips for drafting and editing, and how to prepare your submission.

Click on the “Start” button to begin the course. Alternatively, you can take part in the on-demand lessons on each topic at any time and in any order by clicking on each title.

The lessons in each section take from 2 to 8 minutes to complete. They will then be marked with a green check mark so you can track which ones you have completed, but you can also revisit them if you would like. We have shown an example of the NovBegin Bootcamp with a completed lesson in the image below.

You will also earn a “Course complete” badge in the Novel Beginnings dashboard if you complete all of the lessons in the NovBegin Bootcamp.
