What versions of Word is the ProWritingAid Word Add-in compatible with?

Our ProWritingAid Word Add-in for Windows works with Word 2016, Word 2019, Word 2021, and in Word for Office 365.

The ProWritingAid Word Add-in for Mac is compatible with Word 2016 and newer versions. You will also need to make sure you have an active Microsoft 365 subscription that allows you to install office add-ins. If your workplace/business or your school/university provided your Microsoft 365 license, they may have blocked the permissions to allow you to install the add-on. If this is the case, you will need to contact them to discuss updating the permissions on your account.

If you are a Windows user, this article will help get you up and running. Or, if you use Mac, this article explains how to use the Word Add-In on a Mac, so you can get an idea of what it looks like/how it works.

Please note: Word 2007, 2010, and 2013 are no longer actively supported by Microsoft. Because of this, you may experience issues when trying to use ProWritingAid in Word 2007, 2010, and 2013 that are outside of our control.

To use ProWritingAid within the web version of Word, you will need to install our Word Add-In through the AppSource app here.
