How do I uninstall the Desktop Editor?

This article shows an older version of our brand look and feel. Other integrations and extensions available may look different to the screenshots below.

We won’t be updating our Desktop Editor in the future. We recommend that you download ProWritingAid Desktop Everywhere, which is compatible with the most commonly used writing apps.

To uninstall our ProWritingAid Desktop Editor, please follow the correct steps for your operating system, as seen below.

For Windows Users:

  1. Go to 'Settings' on your computer
  2. Then go to 'Apps'

  3. Find the ProWritingAid Desktop Editor within your list of apps. It should look like this:

  4. Click on this and you should see the following options appear:
  5. Click 'Uninstall' and follow the provided steps.

This should then uninstall and remove the ProWritingAid Desktop Editor from your computer.

For Mac Users:

  1. Find the ProWritingAid Desktop Editor in your Applications folder in Finder.

  2. Drag the app to the Trash, or select the app and choose File > Move to Bin.

  3. To fully delete the app, choose Finder > Empty Bin.
